Bloating
SymptomBloating is caused by a combination of a stagnant, sluggish liver producing weakened bile; low hydrochloric acid from depleted stomach glands; and overgrowth of unproductive bacteria (especially streptococcus) in the intestinal tract. A high-fat, high-protein diet drives the entire cascade. When the liver cannot produce adequate bile and stomach glands burn out, undigested fats go rancid in the gut and proteins rot, providing food for pathogens that create gas. Chronic bloating is an early sign of a liver condition — everyone with chronic bloating has some combination of these issues.
- Adrenaline surges weakening digestive capacity
- High fat diet: All high protein diets are actually high fat diets - bile must work hard to break down chicken, eggs, nuts, cheese, avocado daily
- Ammonia gas from decomposing food (ammonia permeability)
- Stagnant liver: Bloating occurs because the liver is stagnant and sluggish, fatty liver
- Bacteria: Bugs that cause stomach bloating and stomach pain
- Caffeine: Caffeine burns out stomach glands, leading to bloating later in life
- Delayed reaction: Can be bloated from something you ate 2 days ago or even a week ago
- Apple cider vinegar: Can cause bloating when consumed - stomach becomes bloated after drinking it
- Strep bacteria: Caused by streptococcus bacteria which creates acid
- Adrenaline excess: Chronic adrenaline from caffeine, high fat diets, or emotional stress gets absorbed into liver and makes it more stagnant
- Probiotics do not fix bloating: Commercial gut formulas, gut powders, probiotic supplements, and gut cleansers do not fix chronic bloating because they cannot kill unproductive bacteria or viruses. The microorganisms in probiotic supplements are not the beneficial organisms the gut actually needs. Even probiotic companies now add zinc, B12, vitamin C, nettle leaf, and other genuinely effective supplements to their formulas because they realize the probiotics themselves provide minimal benefit.
- Pathogens in liver: Everyone has pathogens like strep, EBV, CMV, HHV-6 inside the liver causing sluggish liver function
- Adrenaline flooding liver: Fight or flight from relationships, heartbreak, work stress, coffee, chocolate sends adrenaline to liver weakening bile production
- Pocket explosions: Food hits pockets filled with pus, acid, pathogens, H pylori, E coli causing explosions and bloating
- Rotting and rancid foods in intestinal tract pockets: Food hits pockets inside the intestinal tract filled with pus, acid, pathogens, H. pylori, E. coli, and other unproductive bacteria, causing explosions of gas and bloating. Undigested fats go rancid and proteins rot in the small intestine, lining the gut walls and harboring pathogens.
- Pocket explosions: Food moving through intestinal tract hits pockets filled with pathogens, causing them to explode and release
- Pathogen feeding: Foods like eggs, dairy, and gluten feed bacteria creating ammonia gas and acid production
- Low HCL: Gastric glands get burned out, causing low hydrochloric acid
- Diminished HCL: Gastric glands so diminished, pathogens growing that shouldn't be, liver stagnant and sluggish
- Delayed food reactions: Gluten from pizza can take 3-5 days to feed pathogens and cause bloating, but person blames whatever they ate that day
- Delayed pathogen feeding: Gluten from pizza three days ago feeding unproductive fungus, strep, C diff, H pylori, staph, E coli in intestinal tract
- Intestinal inflammation: Inflamed areas in intestinal tract from pathogens cause gas to get stuck and build up
- Low bile reserves: Liver bile function compromised from stagnant and sluggish liver
- Insufficient bile production: Liver doesn't produce enough bile to break down fats, so fat sits in gut and goes rancid
- Liver problems: Liver gets stagnant and sluggish, not caused by salicylates
- Low HCL: Loss of hydrochloric acid from gastric glands leads to bloating - HCL is how you keep bloating down
- Food poisoning as root cause of severe bloating: Many cases of severe, serious bloating — where you cannot wear clothes, walking is difficult, and you are constantly in pain — are caused by food poisoning at some point in the past. Food poisoning attacks the stomach, stomach lining, stomach glands that produce HCL, and the intestinal tract. It compromises the immune system, allowing strep, staph, C. diff, unproductive fungus, and yeast to rise up in the intestinal tract, creating a long-standing chronic condition.
- Most commonly, a diet too high in fat/protein (whether unhealthy or healthy fats) causing liver burnout. When an overworked liver must constantly overproduce bile to accommodate a chronic, long-term high-fat/high-protein diet, the stomach must in turn produce more hydrochloric acid to compensate for the reduction in bile reserves over time. Eventually, this causes the stomach glands to become depleted and produce less hydrochloric acid to break down and digest proteins, all while the liver is becoming more sluggish and stagnant. As this happens, one or more strains from the over 50 groups of Streptococcus bacteria can begin irritating the intestinal wall linings and causing mild gastritis as well. At times, overabundant stress can also account for bloating, with the adrenals becoming overworked from either constant low-grade stress or extreme stress conditions. Excess adrenaline tends to affect the intestinal linings, causing irritation there, while tiring out the liver and contributing to its sluggishness and stagnation.
- Pathogenic waste from liver leaching into intestines
- Ammonia gas: Produced from putrified proteins, rancid fats, and pathogenic bacteria feeding on undigested food
- Low hydrochloric acid: Rebuilding hydrochloric acid is a big part of addressing bloating
- Low hydrochloric acid: Rebuilding hydrochloric acid is a big part of bloating issues
- Streptococcus overgrowth: SIBO is mostly streptococcus that's antibiotic resistant, grows when immune system breaks down
- Low bile reserves: Sluggish liver leads to low bile reserves, bile can't break down fats, fats go rancid on intestinal tract lining
- Liver dysfunction: Stagnant sluggish liver that's dysfunctional and not doing its 2,000+ chemical functions properly
- SIBO (strep overgrowth): Strep flourishes in pockets of intestinal tract creating gas and more bloating - almost everybody has SIBO
- Strep overgrowth creating gas in intestinal pockets
- Streptococcus: Streptococcus bacteria sits inside the intestinal tract
- Flu mucus causing bloating months after flu: The flu virus produces mucus not just in sinuses and lungs but also in the stomach and small intestinal tract. Swallowed mucus (from sinus drainage during and after flu) can cause bloating for 3-6 months after flu recovery. The mucus cakes against stomach and intestinal linings, causing loss of appetite and chronic distension.
- Rancid fats and rotting proteins: Undigested fats go rancid and proteins rot in small intestine, lining the gut and harboring pathogens
- Weak HCL production: Weak liver means weaker stomach glands that can't create proper hydrochloric acid to break down protein
- Antibiotic use after flu worsening gut strep: When antibiotics are taken for a viral infection like the flu, strep bacteria already present inside the gut can expand into SIBO and chronic bloating. Antibiotics kill bacteria that were keeping strep in check, allowing strep to flourish in the intestinal tract and creating ongoing gas and bloating.
- Watermelon detox bloating (healing reaction): When consuming large amounts of watermelon during detox, some people experience temporary bloating and cramping. This is because watermelon has a flushing action that dislodges bacteria — strep, E. coli, C. diff — deep inside the intestinal tract. The body then expels this bacterial load, causing temporary distension during the purge. This is a healing reaction, not a sign to stop watermelon.
- Weak bile production: When liver weakens from pathogens like EBV and toxins like heavy metals, it produces lower quality bile that can't break down fats properly
